Get a Library Card

The West Caldwell Public Library is open for use to everyone. To check out books or other materials, a patron must have a card registered with the West Caldwell Public Library, BCCLS, or open borrowing through their home library. Anyone who lives in or owns property in the Township of West Caldwell is entitled to a free library card (with current proof of residency), which must be renewed every three years. Current proof of residency includes:

  • Driver's License
  • Utility Bill
  • Tax Bill
  • Bank Statement
  • Lease or Rent Receipt

Non-residents who are employed in West Caldwell may receive a "Courtesy Card" at no charge with proof of local employment. All courtesy cards must be renewed annually. Proof of employment includes a pay stub with employer's address and/or a letter from employer verifying local employment. Non-residents who are not employed in West Caldwell and do not live in an area with a library that participates in open borrowing may pay for access to the West Caldwell Public Library. All paid non-resident cards must be renewed annually. Fees are as follows:

  • $250 per individual or family
  • $150 for seniors (62 years and older)

For online access to your library account, you must have a valid PIN number. PIN numbers can be acquired in person only at the Circulation Desk.
